Delete Your Account & Data
You can permanently delete your ShabdaGuru account and the personal data associated with it at any time. There are two ways — directly in the app, or by email if you no longer have the app installed.
Option 1 — Delete in the app (instant)
- Open ShabdaGuru and sign in to your account.
- Go to Account.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Type DELETE to confirm when prompted.
This is the fastest method — your account and data are removed immediately, without needing to contact us.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app, send a deletion request to:

- The email address or Google account you used to sign in to ShabdaGuru
- Your display name in the app, if you set one
We aim to complete email requests within 7 days, and will confirm once your data has been deleted.
What gets deleted

What may be retained, and why
We retain a limited amount of information only where we are legally required to, or where it is needed to protect against fraud and abuse:
- Purchase and transaction records — kept by our payment processors (Google Play Billing, RevenueCat, Razorpay) as required for tax, accounting and refund purposes, even after account deletion.
- Anonymised or aggregated usage statistics that no longer identify you personally.
- Any information we are required to retain to comply with applicable law.
All other personal data — your identity, profile and learning history — is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
