Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use the ShabdaGuru Android application or the odiprep.com website (together “the service”). By using the service you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

1. Who may use the service

The service is intended for users aged 18 and above. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account.

2. What the service is — and is not

The service provides study material: an English–Odia dictionary, grammar lessons, AI-assisted language help and practice tests for the Odia language paper of Odisha government recruitment examinations.

• We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to OPSC, OSSC, OSSSC, OUSSSC, the Government of Odisha, or any recruitment authority. Exam names are used only to describe what the material covers.
• Practice questions are prepared for study. They are not previous-year papers unless explicitly labelled as such, and they are not a prediction of any actual examination.
• We do not promise any particular result, score, rank or selection. Percentile and rank figures compare you only against other users of this service.
• AI features can be wrong. Translations, grammar explanations and teacher replies are generated automatically and should be checked before being relied on for anything important.

3. Accounts and guest use

Most features work without an account. Signing in links your progress to you so it syncs across devices. You may delete your account at any time from Account → Delete Account in the app, or through our deletion page.

4. Purchases, subscriptions and refunds

• In the Android app, purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you manage or cancel them in your Google Play account. Refunds for Play purchases follow Google Play policy.
• On the website, payments are processed by Razorpay. We never receive or store your card, UPI or bank details.
• Prices are shown in Indian Rupees and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. We may change prices for future purchases and renewals; a change never affects a purchase already made.
• Because access to digital study material is granted immediately, one-time purchases are generally non-refundable once the content has been accessed. If something goes wrong — a duplicate charge, a purchase that did not unlock — email contact.odiprep@gmail.com and we will put it right.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• copy, scrape, bulk-download, republish or resell the question bank, dictionary, explanations or lesson content;
• share, resell or transfer your account or your access to paid content;
• attempt to reach answer keys, other users’ data, or any part of the service you have not been granted access to;
• interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities, or place unreasonable load on it through automated requests;
• use the service for anything unlawful.

We may suspend or terminate access that breaches these terms, and we may remove content or leaderboard entries that are abusive or fraudulent.

6. Content ownership

All questions, explanations, lessons, dictionary compilations, software and branding in the service are owned by us or licensed to us and are protected by copyright. Your subscription or purchase grants a personal, non-transferable licence to use the material for your own exam preparation — it does not transfer ownership of anything.

Text you submit to AI features remains yours. You grant us only the permission needed to process it and return a result.

7. Availability

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Features may change, and parts of the service may be suspended for maintenance or withdrawn. Where a paid feature is withdrawn permanently, we will offer a reasonable remedy for the unused portion.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of opportunity, examination outcomes, or lost time arising from use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under law.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above and, where appropriate, by notice within the app. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Bhubaneswar, Odisha have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
